It's a Bash mentioned in Providence Journal

"It's a Bash" director David Bettencourt is premiering "On the Lake: Life and Love in a Distant" place at the Stadium Theater in Woonsocket tonight (you should go, it just got four stars in the Providence Journal!)

In a related article about the making of the film, the "It's a Bash" film was also mentioned.

Bettencourt will not rest on his laurels, however. Already he has begun work on a film called It’s a Bash, about the Rhode Island punk rock band Neutral Nation. “It’s remarkable,” said the director. “They’ve been around 25 years and they are only famous here. Put them in a club in Providence and they will fill the place. Put them in a club in Worcester and they will draw maybe only six people.” In Bettencourt’s hands, however, Neutral Nation has the potential to become nationally famous.

What's Doing in Nation-Land

Oh, we've got stuff set up for this Sunday. Cool stuff, so cool I don't want to type it and jinx it. But rest assured, there is stuff.

Neutral Nation Appreciation Society

Not really affiliated with the film in any way, but probably of interest to those who are interested in the film - there's a new facebook group called Neutral Nation Appreciation Society.

Check it out.

P.S. - We interviewed Chabot last weekend. Soldiering on!

Where We're At

Okay, gang, it's been a while but wheels are in motion.

Dave has been busy with On the Lake (and I saw a test screening of it last night - it's real good) but, despite blog appearances to the contrary, all has NOT been quiet on the Neutral Nation movie front. A few weeks back we did an extensive interview with Yarworth, and we've got Chabot lined up soon.

And there has been scanning. Dear god, has there been scanning.

For those of you who have been asking when we're going to do another set of interviews with fans, friends, and associates of the band we're going to schedule one once we finish up some more band interviews to see what areas of Neutral Nation history we need to get commentary and information on.
